Dragons News · Lady Dragon Soccer begins season by finding net NINE times

Your Lady Dragon Soccer team is back and conventional wisdom would say that if you lose some of the most prolific seniors in school history, you might take a step back. So much for convention.

All the Lady Dragons did today, against one of the top teams in the state of Florida, was roll out in a wind chill below freezing, and drop a 9-0 shutout on their opponent.

Pull up a chair and get comfy by the fire. Your Lady Dragons had quite an impressive scoresheet today in the National Elite Prep Showcase, at home vs. Buchholz, Florida.

The roll call of goals was led by  a Quad-trick (and yes that is a made up word) but that is what Maddie Drenowatz did tonight – score 4 goals. Georgie Phelps registered a Hat-Trick of her own (which is 3 goals and not a made up word.) Madeline Bryant and Leslie Fields each had a goal.

Taylor Tufts, while not having a solo goal of her own, had  5 assists! 5 folks! These are not normal soccer numbers if you are just being introduced to the sport. Two more assists were credited to the squad tonight as Maddie Drenowatz had 1 assist as did Gabby Jamall.

Goalkeeper Maddie Martin registered career shutout #16.

The Lady Dragons, 1-0, return to play in the NEPS when the #11 ranked ladies, according to Top Drawer’s National Winter Fab 50 poll, take on Austin Westlake tomorrow at 12:00pm at Dragon Stadium.
